A lot of people thought that BMW will not be doing anything with their new 3-Series since they are currently cooking up a replacement for their bread and butter car. The changes though are mostly for aesthetics purposes as compared to the more significant changes for the 5-Series and the 6-Series.

The 3 Series Coupe and Convertible M Sport Edition and Exclusive Edition , ad the 320d Efficient Dynamics Touring Edition gets a Special Edition Package. The cabrio gets an option to have a hardtop.

The Exclusive Edition for the convertible and the coupe gets a customized colors for the exteirios include an option for a combo of Oxide Silver mirror caps with a shade of Mineral Grey and the 18 inch rims painted in Space Grey. The interior gets a Dakota leather treatment for its upholstery on a Grey leather with grey stitch contrast or an option to have it on black stitched with contrasting white threads. The trim strips gets a Bamboo Grain Anthracite treatment.

Recalls have been plaguing the auto industry in the past few months. The latest news involves BMW and Volkswagen recalled cars and minivans in the United States due to defects that can cause fires according to the government auto safety regulators.

BMW needed to recall 1 Series cars M.Y. 2008 through 2011 due to defective retractor of the front safety belts which may ignite. This is according to the notice at the website of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The number of the affected vehicles is not indicated on the notice.

Volkswagen recalls 15902 units of Routan minivans due to short circuit risks with the latches of the rear-door.

The announcement of the recalls were made after the committee in charge of regulations for the automotive industry sent its report to the Senate body to toughen the laws and penalties for violations.

The recall of VW for the 2009 model year of their mini vans following a recall of the Chrysler Group of 284,831 units of the Town & Country by Chrysler and Grand Caravan under the Dodge brand.

According to the safety engineers of BMW, the problem with the BMW will occur during road accidents of significant severity. The mechanism of the seat belt is designed to add tension, tighten, and hold the person back to his seat during a crash. The problem was traced to the insulation wrapped around the pre-tensioner.

BMW is a brand that has been around forever – seriously, I think it really has been around forever and it is a brand that I truly hope does not go anywhere … ever.  It is a fun brand that produces some of the best cars of its class and I love that about the brand.  BMW is consistent and you truly know what you are getting with this particular brand and that is exactly what makes me keep coming back.

Right now – BMW is actually going to be celebrating its ten years of X5 sales and that is why they are going to release the BMW X5 10-Year Edition.  This is a limited edition BMW.  The BMW X5 10-Year Edition is going to include unique wheels, aluminum trim, and a panoramic glass sunroof, along with Nappa leather, comfort seats, and BMW Individual Piano Black trim inside.

Now – the real kicker?  Its going to be $88+ and it only about 2,000 of these beauties are going to be made.  Remember that.
